The first of goodbyes

I’m happy where the Lord has placed me right now, so I am confident that I will also be happy where He will place me 10 months after. I may say goodbye to colored nails and morning jogs, goodbye to sky gazing and novel reading. I found it’s alright because it’ll be worthwhile. Despite anticipated hardships, with the prize seemingly as reachable as the other side of the world (on foot), wisdom will be gained- just as certain. And that’s as good as a reward we’ll ever get. There’s no greater relief from 17 years of education than a diploma.

And even with the sacrifices I have to make, I feel no regret, for there’s no other way but this. I will definitely, definitely miss creative writing though.
