I Know Better

I know better than to believe my own make believes.

I know that I will just drown myself in false oceans that ironically, is much worse.

Drowning in something that’s not real, a nightmare of your own creation. Your subconscious’ traitorous desires of dwelling in the darkness that is hope.

To have but one memory is a curse that leads you to the same trail.

A trail that flickers, that tilts and slides.  I know better, but innate stubbornness wins all the time.
