Run For Your Life

It’s so easy to just run away.

But it’s a cowardly way out.

There’s so much injustice and my heart bleeds just thinking about it.

But I have to remember that this life is not mine only.

It has never been just mine.

From the beginning, I- we have been imprisoned for life, forever bound to a set of people we were connected to by blood.

That no matter how much we try to run away, we are always,

inevitably pulled right back.

It has yet to be decided whether cutting ties transforms you into

a heartless monster.

Or if it just makes you. . .

a survivor,

trying to be the fittest of them all.

But then again. . .

some people might not even see the difference.
