Battle with the Ocean

Sailed on a boat whilst the wind was too strong
Had two paddles to row the boat on
Rowed and rowed ’til the waves got one swallowed
It was hungry, it was cold, and it brought sorrow
Rowed and rowed til nothing’s to be rowed
The boat filled with water, filled up to my nose
Swim and kick, a battle with the ocean
Float and gloat, against the waves’ quick motion
Aye, there’s land, rough sand on my toes
Alive and not moving, fare well oh my woes
