“Hindi ka naman mahirap mahalin.”

Ngunit paano nga ba
Kung ang bilang ng agwat
ay tila hindi tama?

Kaya’t siya ay nagtimpi
at bumaling sa iba
Hanggang sa dulo’y nagsisi
At sinabing
“Hindi ko naman inakala…”

O binibini, ano ang iyong hindi inakala?
Tila ika’y nagulantang nang malamang
Ang pagtatangi ay hindi naayon
Sa panahong ang isa’y sa mundo naitadhana

Ang pag-ibig ay hindi nasusukat
ng ngalan o titolo
At lalo mong tandaan
Ang pag-ibig ay hindi nasusukat
ng pilak o numero

Follow your North

___

I look at you, you look not at me
But at the same forbidden
Fruit of the tree

It’s funny how your eyes linger,
Steal those glances
Like we’re none the wiser

Follow your North
Stay out of the South
Fix your compass
Oh, don’t be uncouth

Ache

___

And I can’t even breathe
because I know how it feels to break

And it’s not fulfilling
to be on the whole side of the lake

Want so much to run,
but is that really something you can take?

Because right here, right now,
is a reality we can’t fake

Questions unanswered that even
a night’s sleep can not unshake

Fools are those who believe
that love is a piece of cake

Make It So

___

Heave high, heave low
No matter what
Make it so

That the line is cut not
As it reacheth
Around the bow

Heave high, heave low
No matter what
Make it so

That the curve will not
Rot into miserable
Low

Time’s so fast
Can’t have a blast

Where has the past
Gone, gone, gone

Stare at the wall
Let the rain fall
When will he call
Back, back, back

Stepped on a heart
Killed with a dart
Everything’s falling
Apart, part, part

___

Shadows lurking,
All poised for attack

You better get ready,
Watch your back

Calculated movements,
Watchful eyes

Wolf in sheep’s clothing,
Woven with lies

Mine

___

His hands are mine to hold
His face is mine to touch

His voice is mine to hear
His love is mine to feel

His smile is one I caused
His strength is what I see
His flaw I will not mind
His heart is what I’ll find

___

Love Traces

I never want to live a life without you in it.

___

A glass of water, clean sheets
These simple things
Are what I find most sweet

Blended greens, and some oranges
Taming my headaches
And giving me lozenges

Breakfast in bed
Knowledge in my head
Care in my heart
You moulded a great part

I get up to leave
No dust on my sleeves
Just traces of meticulous love
I have had ever since

This is a poem sped up
Because my eyes are welling up
For someone that my heart beats
From the moment I got my wits

I’ve been your treasure from the very start
And you’ve been mine, not just because you’re smart
I love you because you can do anything
Even when we were at the end of the string
I owe my life and a big part of my now
To you, my grandma, I will vow

To leave the same traces
Around the house
That remind me that I am loved
by a most wonderful gift from Above.

What The World Needs to Know

___

The world doesn’t need to know
How our imperfections made the other better
When I’m short of patience and yours is greater

The world doesn’t need to know
How often we laugh about trivial things
From funny facial expressions to Pewdiepie’s everything

The world doesn’t need to know
How you know when I needed silence
When there’s just too much madness

The world doesn’t need to know
How no matter how big our arguments get
You never let me sleep feeling unloved and unwanted

What the world needs to know,
Is that when God says yes,
You don’t need to second guess

Everything will fall into place
If you trust in His pace.

You have born unto me these feelings long forgotten
And somehow I’m grateful that thus I write often

You have evoked unto me the sleeping passion
You got me thinking which is the real version

You have unleased within me the darkness hidden
It’s making me laugh albeit it’s oh so forbidden

You have spurred me into running the race faster
Into a path that unfortunately you can never even enter

You have pushed me over the edge
But I won’t sink low, this I pledge.
