Ache

___

And I can’t even breathe
because I know how it feels to break

And it’s not fulfilling
to be on the whole side of the lake

Want so much to run,
but is that really something you can take?

Because right here, right now,
is a reality we can’t fake

Questions unanswered that even
a night’s sleep can not unshake

Fools are those who believe
that love is a piece of cake

Make It So

___

Heave high, heave low
No matter what
Make it so

That the line is cut not
As it reacheth
Around the bow

Heave high, heave low
No matter what
Make it so

That the curve will not
Rot into miserable
Low

Mine

___

His hands are mine to hold
His face is mine to touch

His voice is mine to hear
His love is mine to feel

His smile is one I caused
His strength is what I see
His flaw I will not mind
His heart is what I’ll find

___

Love Traces

I never want to live a life without you in it.

___

A glass of water, clean sheets
These simple things
Are what I find most sweet

Blended greens, and some oranges
Taming my headaches
And giving me lozenges

Breakfast in bed
Knowledge in my head
Care in my heart
You moulded a great part

I get up to leave
No dust on my sleeves
Just traces of meticulous love
I have had ever since

This is a poem sped up
Because my eyes are welling up
For someone that my heart beats
From the moment I got my wits

I’ve been your treasure from the very start
And you’ve been mine, not just because you’re smart
I love you because you can do anything
Even when we were at the end of the string
I owe my life and a big part of my now
To you, my grandma, I will vow

To leave the same traces
Around the house
That remind me that I am loved
by a most wonderful gift from Above.

What About Love?

Here are some of the things I’ve learned in maintaining a happy relationship, while growing spiritually, with Jesus as our rock. 🙂

Love and Know Jesus

2 Corinthians 6:14
“Do not be unequally yoked with non-beleivers.”

Both of you should know your identity and worth in Jesus Christ. Know that in Him, you are whole and that you don’t need a partner to acknowledge your physical, mental and emotional attributes. Love Jesus above all, and you’ll find it easy to love everyone else.

Pray together and for each other

Develop spiritual maturity together. The solution to every problem is in His Word. The blood of Jesus covers every believer and no work of the enemy shall ever prevail. Feed each other with words of encouragement that is grounded on the love of Jesus. Remind each other that you are God’s favorite and He makes all things work together for your good. Make God the rock of your relationship, that in your weakness, He is your strength.

Guard your heart

Love your partner with a faithful heart. When problems arise, don’t find an ally against your partner. Don’t find comfort from someone else. Internal problems should be discussed between the two of you first and foremost, and not with others who may not have the objectivity or maturity to give good advice. If you need comfort, peace or advice, do this: Seek comfort from Jesus, not from people who will say bad things about your partner/relationship. Seek peace from Jesus, not from thoughts that have not been proved. Seek advice from people who have experience with relationships AND who are spiritually mature.

Guard your heart, as well as your mouth. Respect each other, and refrain from hurting each other (with words or actions) when feeling extreme emotions. Don’t lash out when angry. Guarding your heart, is guarding your relationship.

Respect individuality

Set individual goals. And set goals for your relationship. It is important to maintain individuality so the two of you can learn from each other. Love is not possession. Love is not about controlling the other. Have different interests, have different friends. Trust that at the end of the day, the both of you will fall back into each other’s arms, with new stories and lessons to share.

What The World Needs to Know

___

The world doesn’t need to know
How our imperfections made the other better
When I’m short of patience and yours is greater

The world doesn’t need to know
How often we laugh about trivial things
From funny facial expressions to Pewdiepie’s everything

The world doesn’t need to know
How you know when I needed silence
When there’s just too much madness

The world doesn’t need to know
How no matter how big our arguments get
You never let me sleep feeling unloved and unwanted

What the world needs to know,
Is that when God says yes,
You don’t need to second guess

Everything will fall into place
If you trust in His pace.

Passion

___

It’s like dreaming my first dream
As if my heart was never even broken from the start

Do you remember the last time you wanted it so much?
I don’t.
Because nothing seemed to matter before that

Have you tried drowning in an open ocean?
Controlling this is just as easy as that

And if the existence of the undead is unfathomable
For this dream to not entify is inconceivable

You have the nerve to chop off the rope
Only noticing you’re on the wrong side
In the last minute
You tease so tauntingly
And feed them gold
And then you snatch away every last mold

I Am Fine

___
I must have cried a million times
I must have hurt more than you can count
I could have given up anytime

But He watches over me
He reaches out and heals my heart
His love covers me
And I am fine

I have won and celebrated
I have all that I need and more
Good has taken over most of my life

Because He watches over me
He reaches out and holds my heart
His love covers me
And I am more than fine

In ups and downs, high and low
I call upon the same
There is only one Name
Jesus, because of You
Everything will surely be fine

Balance

___

When you brace yourself for something you dread,
Is it wisdom or pessimism that is being fed?
Are you building walls tall enough to protect,
Or are they ever so tall that none could intersect?

When you wear your heart proudly on your sleeve,
Is it passion or are you simply being too naive?
Are you so blinded that only you can’t see the cards?
Are you sure it’s not a game directed by a heartless bard?
