___
I must have cried a million times
I must have hurt more than you can count
I could have given up anytime
But He watches over me
He reaches out and heals my heart
His love covers me
And I am fine
I have won and celebrated
I have all that I need and more
Good has taken over most of my life
Because He watches over me
He reaches out and holds my heart
His love covers me
And I am more than fine
In ups and downs, high and low
I call upon the same
There is only one Name
Jesus, because of You
Everything will surely be fine

“Don’t pursue.” That’s what they said
“I wont.” I say “I won’t be misled”
“This is what you’ll get” that’s what they warned
But I am above everything, rules be damned
As stubborn as stubborn fools could get
Who dug their traps, then jumped on their net
Who are you to know what can’t be done
Now, look at all that could not be undone
Living on precarious edges and tips
One swoosh and down, down you’ll slip
Two whoops and plop your innards will splat
You’re crushed before your eyelashes bat

It’s because I care
That I will spare
This risky dare
To be laid bare
There’s nothing more
To be left in store
It hurts my core
That we’ll never soar
I hope you’ll forgive
I don’t want to leave
But it’s much to heave
With naught to receive
Bid one last Hi
But I’ll be by
It’s just.. It’s always I
Who is left to die
But not this time
I betcha ten dimes
Before the break chimes
I’d have cut all ties

I’m feeding the wrong fishes
I’m tired of matching the rhymes
Set me free from the many leashes
Show me how to travel in time
The fish is growing bigger and wide
& so is the gap between me and I
Me, who needs to push you aside
& I, who wants to live in a lie
Next the fish devours me whole
I failed to notice I lost control
…But in truth I did
And I actually wished
That the fish would head
To a heart that’d mend

Oh to be fooled by you
Is it a privelege to treasure
Or a shameful demise
Of a foolish dream that
I only just realized
Oh to be touched by you
Is it a memory so tarnished
That my red skin ain’t enough
To let all that is you vanish
Oh to wait on you
Is almost injustice
To a bleeding heart
Yearning for this.

For one second, I won’t deny
That one moment of insanity.
One second out of this dimension,
So I can shout it once,
that for one second, I thought
Of that moment with you.
Then for one second,
I will let that hurt overwhelm me.
So I hope that after that second,
It will vanish into nothingness.
As if we didn’t feel,
As if my breath was not lost
When eyes met even just
For one second.

___
Way past indifference,
Now it’s just unease
Of being trapped some place
Signed up for the chase
A new kind of unexpected
Even with eyes opened
Speeding train incoming
I still stood watching
Pull out the stubborn weed
Prevent whatever misdeed
Heal the brokenhearted
Cause it can’t have what it wanted

You already know
Just like the song goes
The moment we forget
is when I’m happiest
Indulge in stolens
The meaning’s hidden
I read it different
How do you fare?
You dare to stun
You dare to dazzle
Like it’s not enough
That I’m past stricken
The fleeting contact
Seemingly discreet
Deliberate or unbidden
Do tell

I jumped the train, then you followed
Let’s go some place none can follow
Hold my hand, look in my eyes
Let’s find that place none can follow
Sing me songs I want to hear
I’ll write you poems of how I feel
Their muted whispers, without a care,
Let’s hide some place none can follow
This tale of old, for one so young
What do you know of the moon and the sun?
Won’t you come away with me still?
‘Cause if we both have the heart, I know we’ll find,
That place none can follow.

I wonder how she feels
that one day, suddenly,
the sound of footsteps in her wake faded.
Because it has made its own choices.
It used to plead for answers,
but now it walks alone.
It holds its head high,
and knows its own goal.
And in the beginning,
it never looked back.
For the thought of freedom
was a lifelong yearning
that was finally realized.
But then it felt that liberation
can be a hazard as it is a treat.
Having regrets is suffocatingly sweet.
Because change is unchangeable
in time’s inevitable passing.
In a rush to try everything,
the taste was lost.
Some were spilled,
some were ignored.
And as years passed,
the cycle came to an end
and all that’s left was to go back the bend.
And she stands there waiting,
as described by others:
just the same but with a few more lines
on her beautiful face,
smiling… welcoming…
And until it finds itself
with the same treasure to nurture,
it will pursue her until the end and stay,
no longer behind, but beside her,
to share the wisdom each has learned.
